About me

When I started working in the video field about 20 years ago, at the beginning I was asked to film everything, in different situations and contexts. From there my passion for stories, documentary cinema and archives grew, which led me to gain experience as a filmmaker, a term which refers to a professional figure who can cover multiple roles, from the authorial directorial one to the technical one of photography and editing. I found myself working in the most diverse contexts in various parts of the world. This gave me the opportunity to crystallize faces, places, stories and to broaden my gaze first as a human being and then as a filmmaker on different cultures and the complexity of reality. I try, with all humility, to try to give it back through the stories I tell.

I have worked for RAI – Italian National Broadcast for many years, in various tv shows on Rai3 like Report, Presa Diretta, Il Fattore Umano, La Grande Storia, Quante Storie, Rebus.

Every week short three-minute stories on topics such as history, current affairs and culture.

Among my documentaries as director “IL FENOMENO” about African baby football players; “PURGATORIO CANADA” about residential school in Canada; “TRATTAMENTO SPECIALE” on the human trafficking from Africa to Italy. “INVISIBILI” on stories of abandoned merchant ships and crews and their lives put on hold; all made for the Rai3 series “The Human Factor”.

As an independent filmmaker I achieved the documentaries: “H24 – COPS IN THE MIRROR” a reflection on the human and psychological aspect of the men who wear the uniform; “IL GRANO E LA VOLPE” an investigative story on the disappearance of a helicopter; “MOBY DICK O IL TEATRO DEI VENTI” the story of a titanic undertaking for a theater company; “ARCADIA AMERICA” a road trip through deep America.

The shorts movies “Ci Vediamo Presto”, awarded by Roberto Faenza for Best Short Film at the Festival “Cinema and Psychoanalysis 2009” and “Il Colpo” becoming official video of Guglielmo Marconi Foundation.

Among my first works was the documentary in two episodes “ALLARME ROM” and “ROM NELL’EST EUROPEO” for the channel Current Tv – Sky.

I was born and raised in a neighborhood on the northern outskirts of Naples in 1982 before moving to Rome in 2001 where I studied to University Roma Tre and graduated in “Historical, Teorical and Criticism Studies Film”, but if I learned anything it was in the field talking to people, traveling or when I sat in the dark in a movie theater.
